Lucy Doll (aka “The Customer Service Queen of the Universe”) will be retiring after 13 years with Mountain Electronics. In 2009, the clinic she was working for was getting ready to close so she posted a classified ad in the local paper that read, “Now taking applications from employers…..” and listed her skill sets. Whitney Brasington, CEO of Mountain Electronics, mailed Lucy a letter that said, “You sound exactly like the kind of person we’re looking for.”
Lucy started her customer service career as a long-distance operator at age 17, right out of high school in Wisconsin. All the jobs she’d worked since then – in Georgia, Virginia, Washington, DC, Florida, and at clinics in North Carolina – honed her ability help people from many regions and cultures find what they needed. Having worked for large corporations including Wisconsin Telephone, Mercer University in Atlanta, and the National Theatre in DC, she wasn’t sure Mountain Electronics – which she’d never heard of – would be able to sustain her career path, as it was then a small company in a remote mountain town, but it turned out to be a perfect fit. With her affinity for serving the community she lives in, whether it be a benefit for the Lions Club, the public library, or other nonprofit organizations, Lucy enjoys contributing to an atmosphere that advocates hard work, creativity, and fun.
I have never before worked for a company that treated me as well in every way. They truly appreciate the talents their employees bring with them. I want all my long-time customers to know that I miss them already, and that they shouldn’t be surprised if I show up to say hello now that I’ll have time for my favorite hobby – road-tripping!
Lucy has always gone above and beyond for customers, and her dedicated service has been a big factor in the growth and success of Mountain Electronics over the years. Her co-workers and customers wish her all the best in her retirement. She will be missed! Meanwhile, Whitney & Adalaya Brasington are training two wonderful new customer service representatives, Suzette and Caitlyn, who will be happy to carry on the tradition of outstanding customer service that Mountain Electronics provides.
